The Solstice Singers is a group of singers and players from across Cape Cod whose performances recreate an early music experience. Their performances weave Medieval and Renaissance music with drama, dance, poetry and traditional visual elements. The group's members come from diverse backgrounds, but are united in their love of early music and culture, and in the joy they find in bringing the early music experience to their audiences.
The Solstice Singers perform two concert groupings each year, in the late spring and during the winter solstice/holiday season. Their spring, 2001 performance was directed by Lore DeBower with original staging by artistic director, Allan Moniz. Robert Kidd will become music director of the group for their December, 2001 performance season. Upcoming performances are scheduled to be held at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in East Falmouth, Massachusetts on Saturday, December 15 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 16 at 3:00 p.m. The Solstice Singers are also scheduled to perform on the evening of December 31, 2001, New Year's Eve, as part of the Mashpee Commons "Art Gras" celebration in Mashpee , Massachusetts.
